AWCF - Our Mission
The American Wound Care Foundation (AmWCF) is committed to
educating the public regarding treatment and prevention of non-healing wounds requiring aggressive intervention. Individuals
afflicted with non-healing wounds must be aware that they are at risk of
limb loss, major infection and possible death. This Foundation educates the
public so they are aware of risk factors and how and where to seek
appropriate treatment. The American Wound Care Foundation .has the
goal of providing funding for
professional services and supplies for those not able to obtain them
on their own, whether due to financial or other special circumstances.
This will be accomplished by:
- lDeveloping
information in plain language for the general public.
- lConducting
public seminars regarding non-healing skin wounds.
- lPresenting
programs for print and electronic media so the public can make informed
decisions regarding wound care.
- lAssisting
patients with limited income for non-covered services/supplies
